The Institue of Metabolism and Cell Death (MCD) at Helmholtz Munich is dedicated to cutting-edge research in metabolism and cell death. Dr. Soni Deshwal’s group, Mitochondrial Metabolism (MIM), is a young and dynamic team focused on understanding how mitochondrial metabolism regulates cell death and contributes to health and disease. By joining MIM as a technician, you will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of this innovative and growing research group.


Your tasks

  • Prepare and manage cells and animal tissue samples for molecular studies
  • Perform molecular, biochemical, and cellular biology techniques, including Western blotting, cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, cell death analysis, and qPCR
  • Cultivate and maintain cell lines, including transfections and CRISPR-Cas9 Knockouts
  • Genotyping for mice

Your profile

  • Technical assistants with completed vocational training or biology laboratory assistants with completed vocational training or equivalent skills and experience
  • Strong experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell culture techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a dynamic research environment

Desirable qualifications

  • Experience with mouse work is a plus
  • Proficiency in English and German (spoken and written)

If you fulfill all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 9a. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). The position is for a fixed term of 1 year.
