Obesity and diabetes are nowadays considered risk factors for variouscancer entities. Dr. Anja Zeigerer at the Institute for Diabetes and Cancer is investigating the mutual molecular relationships between these diseases and would like to start the new research project on October 1st, 2021. The conclusion of the employment contract depends on the specific approval of the corresponding BMBF funds.

Your responsibilities

  • isolation and culturing of primary mouse hepatocytes followed by functional intracellular assays
  • breeding, genotyping and maintenance of transgenic mouse lines, cardiac perfusion and organ collection
  • organization and realization of research projects including molecular cloning, qPCR analysis, western blot, primary cell culture (mouse and human) and histology 
  • documentation and database management for animal experimentation
  • data documentation and evaluation
  • general laboratory organization including order management

Your qualifications

  • training as a technical assistant or equivalent qualification. University graduates (BSc) are encouraged to apply
  • practical experience in the cultivation of primary mammalian cells, especially mouse hepatocytes
  • practical experience in molecular and cell biological methods, in particular in cloning and transfection of transgenic vectors incl. selection
  • excellent knowledge of the English language
  • ability to work independently and proactively
  • strong skills in team work
  • a high degree of organizing ability
  • flexibility and reliability
