Our mission as research center: Discover personalized medical solutions for environmentally triggered diseases to promote a healthier society in a rapidly changing world.

At our institute you will find a scientifically stimulating international environment. Together with renowned scientists and supported by an excellent infrastructure you will have the opportunity to make an important contribution for a healthier society.

The lab of Prof. Dr. Deng at the Institute of Virology takes an integrated approach to study the interactions between virome, microbiome and the human host. In contrast to classical approaches in phage research, we use single cell technologies, multi-omics methods, culture-independent techniques, and machine learning to study phages and their interactions with the bacterial and human host for the development of novel therapeutics.
Our goal is to develop personalized phage-based treatments against infections caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria and to manipulate the human microbiome for dysbiosis-associated diseases.

To this end, we are looking for a highly motivated technical assistant (f/m/x) to help us fight against multidrug-resistant bacteria and save human lifes.
