The Institute for Diabetes and Obesity (IDO) is located at Helmholtz Munich. The institute is focused on the development of personalized preventive and therapeutic strategies for diabetes and obesity. Research Unit Molecular Pharmacology (headed by Dr. Timo Müller) is aiming to establish new pharmacotherapies to safely and efficiently lower body weight while improving glucose metabolism and is currently looking for highly talented and motivated individual to support the ERC-funded 5-year-project “EU/ERC/TRUSTED/H-E”.
Your mission
- pharmacological in vivo studies in mice to assess drug effects on systems metabolism
- analysis of target signal mechanisms using immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry
- ex vivo tissue analysis of target genes including state-of-the art proteomic and transcriptomic approaches
- writing of peer-reviewed publications

Your qualifications
- university degree (Diplom or Master) in Biology or related natural sciences
- eligibility to obtain a doctorate degree from the Technical University Munich
- great interest to work with mice, experience desirable
- good knowledge in in vivo and ex vivo general biological and imaging techniques
- high motivation, flexibility and resilience
- good knowledge in English is essential

Remuneration and social benefits are based on the collective wage agreement for public-sector employees at federal level (EG 13 50% TV EntgO Bund). In addition, there is also the possibility of granting an allowance if the necessary conditions are fulfilled. The position is (initially) limited to three years, but under certain circumstances an extension can be arranged.
