The newly established Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM) develops and implements 3D imaging technologies to be able to generate the highest resolution views of whole mouse bodies and human organs. At iTERM, we bring together cutting-edge science from biology, chemistry, engineering, and computer science to build unprecedented analysis pipelines for a large variety of biomedical research questions. Overall, this approach provides us with a holistic view of inter-connected biological systems to comprehend diseases an unbiased way. We develop deep learning-based algorithms (AI) to analyze large imaging data in a robust and unbiased way.

Your responsibilities

We are developing next generation drug delivery approaches in combination with our whole mouse and whole human organ transparency methods combined with AI-based data analysis.

Your tasks will be:

  • independently designing, constructing, and characterizing lipid nanoparticles
  • LNP modifications to obtain the most stable and high level mRNA expression
  • testing distribution and toxicity of LNPs throughout the tissues

Your qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, biochemical engineering or similar
  • Extensive experience in chemistry and nanomedicine
  • Experience in nanoparticles, especially in generation and manipulations of LNPs
  • Experience in molecular biology methods (e.g., gel electrophoresis), atomic force microscopy or mass spectrometry could be advantageous
  • Experience with independent writing of scientific texts (manuscripts, grant applications)
  • Outstanding academic track record, including publications respected peer-reviewed journals are expected
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
