The Institute of Diabetes and Regeneration Research (IDR) at the Helmholtz Diabetes Center München, headed by Prof. Heiko Lickert, focuses on the development of regenerative therapeutic approaches to treat diabetes mellitus - complementary and alternative to the classical immunological and metabolic therapy strategies. Your responsibilities

  • Tissue culture mainly with human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs)
  • Transfection of hPSCs and picking and expanding single cell clones
  • DNA and RNA purification
  • Molecular biology (PCR, cloning, digest)
  • Biochemical experiments (Westenblot, IPs, Elisa)
  • Immunohistology (Cryo- and paraffin sections, immunofluorescent stainings)
  • all tasks of the laboratory organization, ordering
  • Work documentation, Creation of work instructions
  • Maintenance of a mouse colony ( weaning, setting up matings, ear punching and sorting out mice, plugcheck)

Your qualification

  • Qualified MTA / BTA / CTA / VMTA or equivalent
  • Experience with embryonic stem cell culture is desirable
  • Familiar with basic molecular biology techniques (mRNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, immunofluorescence)
  • Good communication skills in English and German required
  • Capable of working independently and responsibly
