The aim of our research is to proactively detect health risks involving humans and the environment, decoding the mechanisms of pathogenesis and developing concepts for prevention and therapy.
Obesity and diabetes are nowadays considered risk factors for various cancer entities. The Institute for Diabetes and Cancer headed by Prof. Stephan Herzig, PhD is studying the mutual molecular integration points linking these diseases.

Provided that the prerequisites are fulfilled, a salary level up to E 6 is possible. Social benefits are based on the collective agreement for the federal public service (TVöD). The position is (initially) limited to 2 years, under certain circumstances an extension can be arranged.
