Our research group is at the Institute of Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases (IDM) located in Tübingen. We are affiliated with the University Hospital Tübingen in the Department of Diabetology, Endocrinology, and Nephrology, and the M3 (Malignome, Metabolome, Microbiome) Research Institute and we are looking for a motivated postdoctoral fellow (f/m/x).

Your tasks

  • Investigate the functional contributions of group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) and the type 2 immune module in liver tissue niches in both murine models of MASH and advanced hepatic fibrosis
  • Determine how activated ILC2s feed-back to regulate the perivascular niche
  • Define their crosstalk with other lymphocytes and liver resident stromal, ductular, and parenchymal cells in obesity-related liver disease
  • Use preclinical mouse models as well as patient material/patient cohorts

Your profile

  • PhD in life sciences or related disciplines and M.Sc.
  • Highly motivated to study the immune system in the context of metabolic diseases
  • Prior experience working with animals in a biomedical research setting
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Interest to learn new methods and techniques
  • 2-year minimum commitment

Desireable qualifications

  • Experience in multi-parameter flow-cytometry

If you fulfil all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 13. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). The position has an (initial) fixed term of 2 years but may be extended under certain circumstances.
