The nanoPROBE Lab, headed by Dr. Jian Cui, engages in nanomaterials and photonics research for optical bio-sensing and engineering. Our mission is to develop new tools and uncover new biology.
We are looking for a highly motivated
Your responsibilities
- Breeding, tissue extraction, and primary culture from laboratory animals.
- Analysis of cells and tissue using molecular/cell biology techniques including immunofluorescence microscopy, western blot, biochemical assays, etc.
- Ordering reagents, maintaining laboratory organization and equipment, ensuring quality documentation and data handling, etc.
- Learning additional techniques related to biochemistry, chemistry, and optics as needed (training will be provided).
- Carrying out independent projects within the context of the group's aims.

Your qualifications
- A strong background in chemistry/biochemistry and molecular/cell biology. Background in neuroscience is preferred.
- An appropriate university degree (bachelor). Masters degree preferred.
- Prior experience with animal handling, tissue dissection, biochemical assays, and microscopy. Experience with mouse brain tissue is preferred.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, preferably with prior experience as technical assistant or lab manager.
- Ability to learn new skills, work with others, and manage a diverse range of tasks.
- Excellent communication skills in English, and preferably also German.
