Your responsibilities

  • Breeding, tissue extraction, and primary culture from laboratory animals.
  • Analysis of cells and tissue using molecular/cell biology techniques including immunofluorescence microscopy, western blot, biochemical assays, etc.
  • Ordering reagents, maintaining laboratory organization and equipment, ensuring quality documentation and data handling, etc.
  • Learning additional techniques related to biochemistry, chemistry, and optics as needed (training will be provided).
  • Carrying out independent projects within the context of the group's aims.

Your qualifications

  • A strong background in chemistry/biochemistry and molecular/cell biology. Background in neuroscience is preferred.
  • An appropriate university degree (bachelor). Masters degree preferred.
  • Prior experience with animal handling, tissue dissection, biochemical assays, and microscopy. Experience with mouse brain tissue is preferred.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, preferably with prior experience as technical assistant or lab manager.
  • Ability to learn new skills, work with others, and manage a diverse range of tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, and preferably also German.
