The Research Unit Adipocytes and Metabolism, part of the Helmholtz Diabetes Center aims to unravel novel therapeutics and strategies to prevent the progression from overweight and obesity towards insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. We are a diverse group of motivated and fun international people addressing questions from very basic research to drug development. To strengthen our efforts in tissue selective drug targeting, we are looking for a motivated research/ lab technician - BTA / CTA / MTA (f/m/x).

Your tasks

  • Perform Nucleotide extraction and amplification from cells and tissues
  • Immunohistochemical stainings of tissues and cells
  • Application of aptamers to mice and tissue collection
  • Standard biochemical and cell biological studies to test aptamer target proteins

Your profile

  • Technical school training as lab technician / research technician (BTA, CTA, MTA, Biologielaborant) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field
  • Previous experience in basic molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA isolation, PCR and qPCR, Western Blot
  • Confidence in conducting cell culture experiments with established cell lines
  • Ability to integrate into an international work environment
  • Interest in conducting pharmacology studies in mouse models
  • English knowledge is required

If you fulfil all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 9a. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). The position has an (initial) fixed term of 2 years, with the possibility of moving to a permanent contract.
