Your responsibilities

  • Performing routine laboratory work, including but not limited to tissue sections, histology, immunofluorescence staining, PCR genotyping
  • Organisation of training courses for new laboratory members
  • Deepening your knowledge within the framework of further training courses
  • Independent care of our animal colonies with a focus on scientific aspects (the care of the animals is not your task, but is taken over by a team on site)
  • Close cooperation with the internal laboratory animal husbandry department to discuss and handle daily animal issues

Your qualifications

  • Completed training as a technical assistant (BTA, CTA, MTA, RVT, ZVT, LVT, biology lab technician or comparable) or Bachelor's degree in biology with professional experience
  • Experience in handling laboratory animals (especially mice)
  • Basic knowledge of molecular biology
  • Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
  • Strong independence and willingness to work in a team
  • Reliability is an important characteristic of your qualification
  • IT affinity to master the laboratory database

Provided that the prerequisites are fulfilled, a salary level up to E 9 is possible. Social benefits are based on the collective agreement for the federal public service (TVöD). The position is (initially) limited to 2 years, under certain circumstances an extension can be arranged.
