The Institute of Translational Stem Cell Research (ITS), led by Prof. Henrik Semb, focuses on developing stem cell-based therapies for individuals with Type 1 Diabetes. We are looking for a dedicated Staff Scientist with interest and experience in cell therapy for type 1 diabetes to join our research institute.

Your tasks
- Performing cell culture and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into pancreatic beta cells
- Independently designing and conducting experiments, assays, or operational procedures and perform data collection and analysis
- Manufacturing ITS’s current human pluripotent stem cell product (ATMP) for preclinical and first in human trials
- Being part of developing improved (next generation) human pluripotent stem cell products (ATMPs)
- Recommending new and innovative solutions to problems using scientific creativity, independent thinking, and expertise
- Staying updated on current scientific and technological advancements in cell therapy
- Supervising technical staff
- Effectively communicating complex scientific findings and recommendations in one-on-one discussions and lab meetings
- Write and maintain manufacturing related documentation such as SOPs
Your profile
- Master's degree with more than 2 years of working experience in a life science or stem cell biology discipline - (bio / biotechnology etc.) or related subject
OR
- Ph.D. with at least 1 year of working experience in a life science or stem cell biology discipline - (bio / biotechnology etc.)
- Hands-on experience in with stem cell culture and differentiation is a must
- Experience in flow cytometry immunofluorescence and molecular biology techniques
- Skilled in writing protocols/reports/SOPs
- Knowledge of stem cell and developmental biology
- Proficient knowledge of English (verbal and written), and of German is a plus
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines is preferred
