The Institute of Translational Stem Cell Research (ITS), headed by Prof. Henrik Semb, focuses on developing stem-cell-based therapies to treat patients with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). ITS is looking for an enthusiastic research technician candidate with a background in stem cell biology to work on a human stem cell-based therapy for type 1 diabetes as part of a collaborative H2020 project, the ISLET. The position is for two years with a possible extension.

The ISLET aims to pioneer a new advanced cell therapy to treat T1D patients. To accomplish this, ISLET gathers a team of internationally leading experts to establish a GMP-compliant manufacturing program based on improved and standardized protocols for the generation and characterization of future stem-cell-based therapies. The candidate will work closely in a fantastic environment consisting of scientists at the Helmholtz Diabetes Center, an interdisciplinary and translational research center dedicated to diabetes research, the academic GMP- facility TUMCells and the partners of the ISLET project.
