We are Helmholtz Munich. In a rapidly changing world, we discover breakthrough solutions for better health.

Our research is focused within the areas of metabolic health/diabetes, environmental health, molecular targets and therapies, cell programming and repair, bioengineering, and computational health. We particularly excel in the fields of basic research, bioengineering, artificial intelligence, and technological development.

Through this research, we build the foundations for medical innovation. Together with our partners, we seek to accelerate the transfer of our research, so that laboratory ideas can reach society and improve people’s quality of life at the fastest rate possible.

This is what drives us. Why not join us and make a difference?

The Institute of Translational Genomics (ITG) focusses on translating insights from genomics and multi-omics into mechanisms of complex disease development and progression. Within the Institute, the Data and Analytics (DnA) team is in charge of developing smart solutions for addressing data-intensive problems in complex trait genetics. Since we are working on a growing number of projects involving biobank-sized whole-genome sequencing datasets, in combination with high-dimensional phenotypic and functional data, we are seeking a Genomics Data Scientist (f/m/x) to join the team. This role is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to develop or expand a working knowledge of state-of-the-art methods in statistical genetics and genomics.
