The research of the Institute of Allergy Research (IAF) is focused on the understanding of mechanisms involved in the development of allergies and allergen tolerance in the context of genetic predisposition, immune system and environmental factors. As part of the Center of Allergy & Environment (ZAUM) the IAF conducts applied, clinical and basic research. The aim of the research is to understand the mechanisms of allergic diseases, to assess risks for the onset of allergy as well as to develop novel strategies for prevention und therapy.

We are looking for a PostDoc with a passion to work in the field of inflammatory skin diseases in a multidisciplinary project team consisting of computational biologists, biologists and clinicians.

Your responsibilities

  • Identification of therapeutic target structures for treatment of inflammatory skin diseases
  • Validation of the identified target structures in human 2D and 3D cell culture models
  • Preparation of human skin samples for RNA sequencing
  • Development of cutting edge human cell culture models
  • Acquisition of third party money
  • Supervision of students (bachelor/master thesis), PhD students and technical staff

Your qualifications

  • Ph.D. in immunology or dermato-immunology
  • Expertise in molecular techniques such as cloning, retroviral transfection and next generation sequencing
  • Expertise in isolation, cultivation and differentiation of primary human cells
  • Expertise in immunological techniques such as MACS-sorting, flowcytometry, multiplex protein analysis
  • Expertise in supervision of students
  • International track-record of peer-reviewed publications
  • Self-motivated, independent and flexible working attitude
