Helmholtz Zentrum München is a research center with the mission to discover personalized medical solutions for the prevention and therapy of environmentally triggered diseases and promote a healthier society in a rapidly changing world.

News on the Corona pandemic
We continue to recruit and are looking exactly for you. To this end, we have adapted our recruitment process to ensure the greatest possible health protection for both our applicants and our employees. After successfully reviewing your application documents, we will invite you to a friendly video call or telephone interview, no special devices needed. Here we simulate a face-to-face interview situation in order to get to know you better. Fight with us against the spread of environmentally related diseases and apply now.

Our mission
The newly established Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM) develops and implements 3D imaging technologies to be able to generate the highest resolution views of whole mouse bodies and human organs. At iTERM, we bring together cutting-edge science from biology, chemistry, engineering, and computer science to build unprecedented analysis pipelines for a large variety of biomedical research questions.

Overall, this approach provides us with a holistic view of inter-connected biological systems to comprehend diseases an unbiased way. We develop deep learning-based algorithms (AI) to analyze large imaging data in a robust and unbiased way. Our research received high attention from high-profile scientific journals (Nature Methods Pan Cai…Ertürk, 2016, Nature Neuroscience Cai Pan…Ertürk 2018, Cell, 2019, Pan Schoppe…Ertürk, Cell Zhao…Ertürk, 2020, Nature Methods Todorov Paetzold…Ertürk, 2020) and media including New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Süddeutsche Zeitung.

iTERM is an interdisciplinary and international team. We are aiming to strengthen our new institute with highly motivated scientists and are looking for a highly motivated
