The primary objective of the Institute of Diabetes and Regeneration Research (IDR) at the Helmholtz Diabetes Center München is to develop regenerative therapeutic approaches to treat diabetes mellitus - complementary and alternative to the classical immunological and metabolic therapy strategies.

Your responsibilities

  • Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS)
  • In vivo experiments with mice and handling of mice
  • Tissue culture, including maintaining cell line and performing transfections
  • Biochemical experiments (Westernblot, IPs, Elisa)
  • Immunohistology (Cryo- and paraffin sections, immunofluorescent stainings)
  • Confocal imaging
  • Analysis und enrichment of cell populations
  • Molecular biology (PCR, cloning, digest, DNA and RNA purification)

Your qualifications

  • Apprenticeship (Ausbildung) as MTA / BTA / CTA / VMTA or equivalent vocational training
  • Practical experience in sterile handling of cell cultures is required
  • Familiar with basic molecular biology techniques (mRNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, immunofluorescence)
  • Perferably experience with in vivo work with mice - can also be learned through our in-house training opportunities
  • Good communication skills in English and German required
  • Capable of working independently and responsibly

Provided that the prerequisites are fulfilled, a salary level up to E 9 is possible. Social benefits are based on the collective agreement for the federal public service (TVöD). The position is (initially) limited to one year, under certain circumstances an extension can be arranged.
