Your tasks

  • Performing cell culture and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into pancreatic beta cells
  • Independently designing and conducting experiments, assays, or operational procedures and perform data collection and analysis
  • Manufacturing ITS’s current human pluripotent stem cell product (ATMP) for preclinical and first in human trials
  • Being part of developing improved (next generation) human pluripotent stem cell products (ATMPs)
  • Recommending new and innovative solutions to problems using scientific creativity, independent thinking, and expertise
  • Staying updated on current scientific and technological advancements in cell therapy
  • Supervising technical staff
  • Effectively communicating complex scientific findings and recommendations in one-on-one discussions and lab meetings
  • Write and maintain manufacturing related documentation such as SOPs

Your profile

  • Masters Degree and Ph.D. with at least one year of working experience in a life science or stem cell biology discipline - (bio / biotechnology etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation is a must
  • Experience in flow cytometry immunofluorescence and molecular biology techniques
  • Knowledge of stem cell biology and stem cell and developmental biology 
  • Skilled in writing protocols/reports/SOPs
  • Proficient knowledge of English (verbal and written), and of German is a plus
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines is preferred

Only applicants with experience in working with pluripotent stem cells will be considered for this position.

If you fulfil all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 13. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). This position is for a fixed term until 15.10.2026.
