Your responsibilities

  • Culture and differentiation assays of human and mouse embryonic stem cells.
  • Culturing embryonic organoids systems such as gastruloids or embryoid bodies.
  • Analysis of cells using molecular/cell biology techniques including immunofluorescence microscopy, FACS, western blot, etc.
  • Setting up, learning, and running experimental protocols for single-cell genomics and transcriptomics.
  • Ordering reagents, maintaining laboratory organization and equipment, maintaining cell lines, ensuring quality documentation and data handling, etc.
  • Carrying out independent projects within the context of the group's aims.
  • Training and onboarding new students and postdocs.

Your qualifications

  • An appropriate university degree. Masters or PhD degrees are preferred.
  • A strong background in molecular/cell biology. Prior experience with mammalian cell culture.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills, work with others, and manage a diverse range of tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, and preferably also German.

Desirable qualifications

  • Prior experience as technical assistant or lab manager is preferable.
  • Prior experience with -omics library preparation and/or confocal fluorescent microscopy is a plus.
  • Experience with setting up and maintaining liquid handling devices is a plus.
