The Helmholtz Institute for Metabolic, Obesity and Vascular Research (Helmholtz-Institut für Metabolismus-, Adipositas- und Gefäßforschung, HI-MAG) at the University of Leipzig, aims at uncovering the molecular underpinnings of metabolic, obesity and vascular disorders to enable precision therapies. HI-MAG is part of Helmholtz Center Munich. As one of the world’s leading research institutes, Helmholtz Center Munich is a highly driven and stimulating international environment. Together with renowned scientists and supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to make important contributions towards scientific knowledge and the improvement of people’s quality of life.

The YIG "Vascular Epigenetics", headed by Dr. Bilal Sheikh, elucidates the molecular mechanisms that underpin the complex interplay between metabolic, lifestyle and epigenetic factors. The group focuses on these themes in the context of metabolic disease.

The ultimate aim of the current project is to establish novel therapies for the treatment of metabolic dieases such as obesity, diabetes and fatty liver disease. For this project, based in Leipzig, we are now recruiting a
