Helmholtz Munich hosts Germany’s first fully certified core facility service for state-of-the-art OLINK® technologies for advanced biomarker discovery, offering the complete repertoire of Target 96/48/Flex and the latest Explore platform. You will work in the OLINK® Service team and will be in charge of running OLINK Explore/Target workflows for our core customers and help establish new assays where needed. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a rapidly developing field and learn a wide variety of new techniques and skills in a high profile laboratory.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform independently the entire experimental workflow according to established standard operation procedures, from sample preparation to delivery of samples for data analysis, after successful certification training
  • Receive, inspect, and record customer samples and laboratory consumables upon delivery
  • Hold responsibility for smooth operation including ordering and inventory management and laboratory instrumentation (operation, maintenance, software updates, and technical support if requested)
  • Communicate regularly with the OLINK Platform team and Team Lead to receive and confirm understanding of planned daily tasks and to report issues immediately (samples, equipment, etc.) and record them as directed
  • Additional duties may be considered depending on the level of experience; to be discussed and defined accordingly

Your qualifications

  • State-recognized vocational training as a BTA/ CTA/ MTA or a Bachelor’s degree or similar in molecular biology, biochemistry or related science/engineering field with at least three years of hands on experience in a molecular biology setting
  • Ability to follow and perform experiments to SOPs and highly accurate and precise pipetting skills
  • Prior experience with liquid handling robots and NGS technologies is beneficial
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills in parallel with supporting ongoing work
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and be flexible in day-to-day work
  • Deliver results in a timely and effective manner
  • Thorough, self-motivated, and proactive team player with an interest to work across teams and disciplines
  • Experience in Microsoft Office programs and willingness to learn other software and systems. Familiarity with LIMS is a plus
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, both oral and written. Knowledge of English is highly beneficial
