Asthma is the most common chronic disease in children; currently no prevention against onset of new asthma is possible. The aim is now to generate potential drug candidates in order to develop a medicinal product for the prevention of childhood asthma. The aim of this position is to use in vitro assay systems to validate the effect of potential protective compounds upon epithelial barrier function and their ability to modulate pro-asthmatic immune responses.

Remuneration and social benefits are based on the collective wage agreement for public-sector employees at federal level (EG 13 50% TV EntgO Bund). In addition, there is also the possibility of granting an allowance if the necessary conditions are fulfilled. The position is (initially) limited to three years, but under certain circumstances an extension can be arranged.
