The Institute of Translational Stem Cell Research (ITS), headed by Prof. Henrik Semb, focuses on developing stem-cell-based therapies to treat patients with Type 1 Diabetes.

ITS participates in a European-funded project, the ISLET, bringing together internationally leading experts with a shared goal: to pioneer a cell therapy to improve the lives of people diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The candidate will work closely in a fantastic environment consisting of scientists of the Helmholtz Diabetes Center, an interdisciplinary and translational research center dedicated to diabetes research, with the academic GMP-facility TUMCells and the partners of the ISLET project.

Your responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for staff and external partners
  • Execute general secretarial tasks e.g., coordination of travel arrangements, organisation of business trips and processing of expense claims and reimbursements
  • Responsible for human resources matters (e.g. support hiring process)
  • Correspondence in German and English language
  • Provide general administrative services for the institute’s staff
  • Responsible for updating the institute´s website and social media
  • Support regular oversight of institute’s budget
  • Translate documents (German/ English and English/German)

Your qualifications

  • Successfully completed training as an office administrator (e.g. kaufmännische Ausbildung)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knowledge of English and German (verbal and written)
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
  • Advanced experience working with Microsoft Office applications
  • Openness and interest in learning new tasks and skills
  • Highly self-motivated and team spirit
