The Communications & Strategic Relations department (COMS) is responsible for positioning the entire research center in the relevant target groups, developing and implementing communication measures with and for our outstanding researchers - through all channels, both internally and externally. In this way, we increase both the visibility of our scientific successes and the attractiveness of Helmholtz Munich as an employer and as a cooperation partner for other research institutions, university hospitals and companies. A variety of information services for interested laypersons complete our spectrum.

Your responsibilities

  • Together with the COMS management, you develop the communication and marketing strategy supporting the goals of our center.   
  • You plan holistic communication activities, including their analysis and reporting.  
  • You independently develop communication concepts and ideas for lighthouse projects and strategic partnerships.  
  • You know our key figures and research the latest trends and features, you evaluate their relevance for Helmholtz Munich and derive measures for different target groups, which you implement autonomously and evaluate transparently.
  • Together with the COMS management, you develop future-oriented structures and quality methods (such as the implementation of a digital KPI dashboard) and you are in charge of the reliable implementation in the department.   
  • You are the contact person for our branding and coordinate the CI- and CD-compliant implementation.

Your qualifications

  • You have a scientific degree with focus on business administration, communication or natural science.   
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in agile project management and marketing strategies.  
  • You gained at least 3 years of experience in a communications department or agency environment. 
  • You have excellent written and spoken English and German proficiency.   
  • Lean management is not a new concept for you, but an integral part of your way of working.  
  • You are a solution-oriented personality with hands-on mentality and enjoying the development and implementation of new innovative formats.  

Desirable qualifications

  • You have a Scrum certification or similar in the area of agile project management.  
  • You have change management knowledge.   
  • You know how to implement new marketing tools.  
  • You have experience in digitisation processes.

Provided that the prerequisites are fulfilled, a salary level up to E 13 is possible. Social benefits are based on the collective agreement for the federal public service (TVöD). The position is unlimited.
